My Internship Experience as a Student Teacher at St. Michael's HSS, Pravithanam

  Introduction:

 During my internship as a student teacher at St. Michael's Higher Secondary School in Pravithanam, I had the opportunity to teach Chemistry to classes 8 and 9. This experience was both challenging and rewarding, allowing me to grow as an educator and make a positive impact on my students. 

 Classroom Management & Challenges: 

 At the beginning of my internship, I faced difficulties with classroom management. However, with determination and perseverance, I was able to effectively manage my classes and create a conducive learning environment for my students. This experience taught me valuable lessons in patience, communication, and adaptability.

 Organizing a Flash Mob for International Peace Day: 

 One of the highlights of my internship was organizing a flashmob to commemorate International Peace Day at Pravithanam junction. This event not only brought awareness to the importance of peace but also showcased the creativity and unity of the school community. It was a memorable experience that allowed me to engage with students outside the classroom and promote a message of harmony and understanding.

 Science club activities and other services:

 During the internship period I got an opportunity to be a part of the science club of the school and to organize a science exhibition including working models, still models, innovative charts etc. prepared by students. Also we took value education classes, art education classes and physical education classes as prescribed by our curriculum. We were so esteemed to organize an antique exhibition on the day of which proclaimed the tradition and culture of Kerala. We closely observed the process of mid-day meal programme of the school and various activities. 

 Mentorship and Support: 

 Our class teacher Dr. Sr. Mary Thomas was in-charge of my internship. During that period she visited our school multiple times and gave me proper corrections to become a successful teacher on future. Throughout my internship, my mentor teacher, Beenamol Augustine, played a crucial role in guiding me through the challenges of teaching and providing valuable feedback to help me improve. Her support and encouragement made my internship period a truly enriching and fulfilling experience. Additionally, my colleague Liya Mathew from Social Science Education was a constant source of support and assistance, helping me navigate the complexities of teaching and offering valuable insights from her own experiences. Also the guidance and support from all other teachers of the school helped us to get a home feeling there. 

 Conclusion: 

 My internship experience at St. Michael's HSS, Pravithanam, was a transformative journey that allowed me to develop my teaching skills, overcome challenges, and forge meaningful connections with students and colleagues. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in such a supportive and nurturing environment, and I look forward to applying the lessons and experiences gained during this internship to my future career as an educator.
